What is the Roman’s Road to salvation? Simply put, it is a series of Bible passages found in the letter that the Apostle Paul wrote to the Romans that emphasize the key elements of the salvation journey.
All journeys, long or short begin with the first step. This journey starts with a simple truth found in Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
The second step is realizing that sin has a price, we can find this truth in Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
The third step is to realize that there is a way to be brought back into a right relationship with your creator God. Romans 10:9 “If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.
The fourth step is calling on God’s promise found in Romans 10:13 “Whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord will be saved.
Some will add more verses to this journey and some will try to take some away, but this is the journey as I know it. Like all roads this one will only take you as far as you are willing to go. Likewise this road will only take you to a single destination. Jesus told the disciples in the Gospel of Matthew 7:13-14 â €œEnter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.
If you have found that this is a journey you would like to take and you are ready to walk through that narrow gate then I encourage you to talk to a friend who is a Christian, or a pastor you know you can trust, or e-mail or call me if you prefer and let us pray with you.
Of course you can pray on your own. Simply confess your sins, as you recognize them, to the Lord, ask for forgiveness and ask Jesus to come into your heart and for the Holy Spirit to guide you. It need not be elaborate or fancy or dramatic, just a simple humble appeal to God for forgiveness and mercy through His son Jesus Christ.
If you do not have a bible and need one, please contact us so we can see to it that you get one right away. And seek out a Christian Church where the Bible is used and available and the pastor preaches from it.
May God Bless you and your journey, and as you keep to the path depend on the Holy Spirit of God to guide you. Many Blessings…. Pastor Chris
